Winter Solstice
So. It’s the solstice today. The longest day of the year but wonderful to be celebrated. It means the light is coming back. I’ve started trying to make these seasonal shifts more spiritual. I don’t always know what I am doing, but I figure, the learning that comes is what propels us forward. I AM a person who is always trying to find the lesson in anything.
Sadly, I still have not found a global lesson from COVID.
But personally, having all of the extra time at home made me explore areas of creativity I might not have had time for in the past. It’s made me confront my fears always. The personal lessons keep on going.
So. That being said, I get this subscription box from Tamed Wild. It's great. It came with these beautiful cards about Solstice Rituals.
Essentially, it said to create a pentagram with string (I used rocks because me) and each point on the star represents a different thing. I created a picture in my grimoire to help me keep it straight and then I used different things to represent those things. You light the candles as you go around the points and ask for your manifestations. For example, I put shattuckite (blue stone) at spirit because it's good for psychic abilities and that is something I want to keep working on. When I was finished with the ritual, I made more notes about what I put and what I wanted it to lead me to.
So you put a photo of yourself in the middle and as you light your candles you say a prayer, a poem etc to Decima. As you may or may not recall, ( can't remember if I wrote it in this space or not) I believe in many things. God. Jesus, angels, spirit guides, animal guides, Mother Earth, Moon, Ocean, Sun. I usually tailor my prayers and words to whatever I am doing. I do, always, include God. To me, God created everything including all of the previous things and has led me to using them. (One of my favorite Podcasts, Psychic Teachers, talks about this very thing. )That all being said, I also wrote a Solstice Poem (before I even knew that this ritual wanted one).
The solstice she weeps
and longs for the sun
Renewing her spirit
and allowing her breath
to be slow and easy
Releasing the stagnancy
Grow little one
You can grow now
Happy Solstice friends. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
